"I want to live like a poor man with lots of money" -- Pablo Picasso

Friday, December 20, 2002

Imagine there existed a pill - you could take it and forget anything you choose. Any trace of it is gone from your memory forever. But there's a catch: there's some chance it will kill you. What risk is acceptable? Maybe that depends on what you want to forget. I'm sure there are people with memories that are so messed up they'd be happy with 50-50 odds. Fortunately I'm not one of those but I might consider 1 in 10 odds.
